Heartbreak for Gailltir at Walsh Park

GaillTir Camogie

Senior Semi Final

Our seniors bowed out of the 2014 championship at the weekend to a much more experienced St. Anne’s side.  Many within camogie circles in Waterford would not have given Gailltír much of a chance after they suffered a heavy defeat against the same opposition earlier in the championship.

Two early goals for St. Anne’s and playing against a strong wind it didn’t look good. A young Gailltír side settled to what seemed like a mountain to climb and with the Dunhill side wasting some chances to tack on a few more points there was at half time a glimmer of hope. The second half saw

A massive effort from the Barony girls to claw back the score line, they battled for every ball and were unlucky not to find the net, down to the last minute they never gave up a true character of all who put on the Gailltír jersey. Final score 2-08 to 0-11 the Dream of a senior county title over for 2014 but Belief that someday soon these girls will achieve this, don’t forget Dream Believe Achieve.
