De La Salle Qualify For Féile

Well done to our U-14 girls who have qualified for the National Feile Finals which takes place later this year in June. We hosted our group on Thurs 19th April in Gracedieu. 3 teams were down to participate but Brickey’s were unable to attend. It was a winner takes all game v Lismore. Both teams served up a great game with play swaying from end to end with our girls victorious at the final whistle on a score line of 5-3 to 2-1. We had a panel of 21 girls for this game with all girls getting game time.

The Feile B semi finals and& final were scheduled for Sunday 22nd April at the WIT Arena. All teams were minus players due to prior commitments. We had 15 girls available for the semi final v Butlerstown and all the girls played fantastic throughout the semi final. We were victorious on a score line of DLS 6-0 Butlerstown 0-1. 

Next up was the other semi final and after another fantastic game Abbeyside won v Dungarvan 0-3 to 0-1.

DLS v Abbeyside was the final pairing. We started with the same 15 girls with 1 more girl available to us before half time. Our girls from the first whistle till the final whistle showed great energy determination skill and commitment, running out winners on a score line of DLS 2-4 Abbeyside 0-1. Well done to all 4 teams for 3 very competitive sporting and entertaining games.

Great celebrations at the final whistle from a great bunch of girls. Onwards now to the National Feile Finals in June. Many thanks to everyone for the great support on both days for the girls.
