Waterford record a doube over Cork

Second half Performance seals win for Waterford Intermediate Camogie Team against Cork

The Waterford Intermediate camogie team continued their winning ways when they met Cork in the second round of the 2014 All Ireland Liberty Insurance Intermediate Championship at Carriganore on Saturday 28th June. Waterford ran out comfortable winners in the end on a score of 4-13 to 2-08 after an excellent second half performance.

Early points from Waterford players Lorraine Bray and Nicola Morrissey cancelled out Amanda O'Regan's double score. Waterford had to contend with Cork pressure in the opening 10 minutes and Amada O'Regan shot on goal was deflected out for a 45 which she converted followed by a  Katelynn Hickey point from play.

Waterford responded with Trish Jackman's first score of the afternoon when she converted a free. Waterford then had a setback when a long range shot from Cork's Collette Desmond ended in the back of the net to lead 1-04 to 0-03 after 12 minutes. Both teams traded points from frees before Waterford began to claw their way back into the match. Another clinical finish from a Trish Jackman free was followed by a Waterford goal when Niamh Rockett was fouled on the 20 meter line and the reliable Trish Jackman stood up and fired a powerful shot into the roof of the net to level the match once more.

Cork scored another two points in the remainder of the half but Waterford were starting to dominate the midfield and players such as Charlotte Raher, Shona Curran and Sinead Cummins were working extremely hard and Waterford were rewarded when Sinead Cummins picked out Karen Kelly with a pass which she fired into the net after a great run.

The start of the second half saw Shona Curran win possession from the throw-in which Niamh Rockett gathered and passed into Karen Kelly to slot over for the first point of the half. Within the next 5 minutes we scored a further two goals to extend the lead. First up was a Nicola Morrissey goal when she tapped the ball into the net in a crowded goal area. Next up was a Lorraine Bray goal after Sinead Cummins made a run from midfield to release her.

This seemed to slow Cork and for the next 10 minutes they were forced to try and work the ball into goal scoring positions but the defence of Fiona Morrissey, Mairead Morrissey were able to smother potential threats. While restricting Cork chances, the Waterford team continued to extend their lead and points from Nicola Morrissey, Karen Kelly, Niamh Rocket and Trish Jackman meant that we compiled and impressive 4-13 in total. Cork scored a total of 1-01 in the second half showing the defensive ability of the team as a whole in restricting scoring opportunities. Some changes were made as the second half progressed and these personnel changes show the strength in depth that exists at the moment. Players such as Ruth Geoghegan, Zoe O'Donoghue and Valerie O'Brien were introduced and Iona Heffernan had her debutante Championship appearance.

After a winning start away to Meath last weekend coupled with this result means that Waterford have maximum points from the two games and look forward to their next match away to Kilkenny on Saturday July 5th. This promises to be an exciting match as Kilkenny have also won both their opening matches and this result will go a long way to determining the final table positions.

Clinical Performance sees off Cork in opening match of U16B All Ireland Championship

In what can only be described as an all round team performance the Waterford U16 team had a relatively easy win over Cork on Sunday 29th June in Walsh Park on a score on 5-15 to 0-10. Encounters between these two teams had been very close affairs with only a couple of scores separating them. This Waterford team reached the All Ireland final last year and Cork narrowly beat them on that occasion so if the team performance can be maintained at the current level they would hopefully excel this year.

Although Waterford had a high score the defence are to be commended on ensuring that any Cork possession in the scoring zone was contained and indeed Cork relied most of their scores from placed balls.

Waterford started the quickest and in the first 5 minutes were four points up with Beth Carton starting her scoring and a point from Aisling Power also. Waterford's first goal came on seven minutes when Anne Corcoran was first to react to kick the ball into the Cork net. Beth Carton then went on a scoring spree when she scored three points from play and converted a 45. Waterford were 1-08 up before Cork scored their first point from a Nora O'Riordan 45 after 18 minutes. Anne Corcoran scored her second goal when a shot at the Cork goal was partially dealt with and she fired into the net. Cork managed 4 more points before halftime while Waterford scored a further 2-02. Anne Corcoran sealed her hat trick of goals and Beth Carton scored her first goal and she also scored a couple of points.

Cork were first to score in the second half when another Nora O'Riordan score from a 45 but was quickly cancelled when Beth Carton scored her second goal. Further points from Courtney Healy, Megan Dunford and Kate McMahon saw Waterford finish with a score of 5-15 to Cork's 0-10.

Waterford must now face Antrim on 6th July in Donaghmore in Ashbourne. We wish the team the best of luck in the coming matches.

The team were: Brianna O'Regan, Sinead O'Brien, Laura Murray, Aoife Shanahan, Courtney Healy (0-01), Saoirse Bonner, Megan Dunford (0-02), Siebal Harney, Kate McGrath, Beth Carton (2-10), Aishling Power (0-01), Niamh Murphy, Kate McMahon (0-01), Anne Corcoran (3-0), Clodagh Galvin, Sinead Cunningham, Roisin Uniacke, Collette Hogan, Taylor Healy, Rachael McDonald, Sharon Williams, Saoirse English, Catherine Murray, Roisin Oates, Sally Brown, Chloe Dempsey, Ellen Curran, Caoimhe Drohan

Gailltír Camogie Club

Juvenile

Our u 12 team had a very busy week, on Monday evening in Gaultier they welcomed home the U 14 Féile Champions, then on Thursday they travelled to Brickey Rangers for their first league game of the year which they won well, on Saturday they played in the go games at half time in the Waterford V Cork intermediate championship game in Carriganore, on Thursday they play St. Anne’s in Gaultier. Training continues every Monday evening at 6.15 for all Under 12’s, 10’s, 8’s & 6’s

Congratulations to Gaultier Ladies U 14 football team that won the county final over the weekend.

Minor

Our minor team start their championship campaign this Wednesday away to Lismore, these girls along with the u 16’s have been training away over the last few months with team mentor Emma,  everyone at the club would like to Wish them well with their campaign, well done to Sinead Cunningham and Anne Corcoran who played their part in the Waterford U 16 team that beat Cork On Sunday.

Senior

Gaultier 6-4 St. Anne’s 5-11

This non county player Senior League game played at Dunhill on Saturday last was certainly entertaining to say the least.   The score alone will tell you that.   It was also a game of two halves.   St. Anne’s dominant in a lively first half , with the Gaultier girls awake in the second period.

Prominent for the Barony girls in a game of fast skilful camogie were Shannon Delahunty, Laura Flynn and Áine O'Keeffe at the back, with Bella Daniels lording affairs at mid-field.   In an attack that lacked cohesion especially in the first half - Annie Glavey and Sara Judge were to the fore.

Next Friday the 4th July the girls entertain Butlerstown at 7.30pm at home.   It is hoped a good crowd will come out to support them.   Important also and very opportune might be the availability of a number of the up and coming talent.    This competition affords them valuable experience.

Friday 4th is the night, 7.30 the time, Gaultier GAA pitch the venue; you have it noted, see you there.

Well done to the Waterford Intermediate camogie team and Gailltír girls Trish and Emma on a great win on Saturday over Cork.

Gaultier win first Ladies Football County Final, wins also for Ballyduff, Saint Olivers and Ballymacarbry.

County Under 14 championship finals

A number of our under 14 finals were played on Saturday last in Kilmacthomas GAA grounds. First up was an east west pairing when Gaultier met Old Parish in the C final. This was Gaultier’s first county final as they only affiliated this year for the first time and they made a successful start to their history overcoming a game Old Parish who battled hard to the very end. Ably led by captain Ailís Doyle, Gaultier proved on Saturday that they are masters of the big ball as well as the sliotar and had a number of excellent performers who will become stars in Ladies Football in the coming years.

In the second final of the day the B plate competition we had another West versus East when Ballyduff Upper and Roanmore did battle in what was to be a pulsating game of football which ebbed and flowed all through. The red and whites led by their captain and county under 14 goalkeeper Rosie Landers rocked Roanmore with two early goals in the second half and try as they might the city girls were unable to claw back that deficit and the Ballyduff girls ran out winners on the score line Ballyduff Upper 4-5 Roanmore 2-6

Two clubs which tasted success in the Under 16 championship finals the previous week met in the B final. This was the battle of Ballymacarbry and Stradbally. This was a close encounter in the first half with both teams matching each other score for score. In the second half the old saying that goals win matches proved true as Ballymac scored three without reply and captain Muireann Boyce was the proud recipient of the trophy which proves that the Ballymac conveyor belt of producing fine footballers is alive and well. Final score Ballymacarbry 4-7 Stradbally 1-5

In the final match of the day we had a cracker of a game between two relatively new clubs who gave us some sparking football and 100% commitment and entertainment. This was the D final and near neighbours St Olivers and Shamrocks served up a feat that was well worth waiting for. In the end St Olivers ran out winners on the scoreline of 5-7 to Shamrocks 3-5 in a game that had everything that is good about ladies football in it. Angela Walsh was a proud St Oliver’s captain as she received the trophy from Elma Foley , County Fixtures Secretary.

County 11-a side League Finals

On Sunday morning the finals of the Adult 11-a-side leagues were played in the Sliabh gCua grounds in Touraneena. In excellent conditions for football Comeragh Rangers had a narrow two points victory over Old Parish in a game that ebbed and flowed all through with the result being in doubt until the final whistle was blown. In the A final old rivals Ballymacarbry and Comeragh Rangers did battle. Ballymac got on top from the start and rattled in goals at vital times to ensure that they kept their comfortable lead all through before running out convincing winners on the score line Ballymacarbry 3-17 Comeragh Rangers 1-7

Intermediate Munster Championship

Waterford and near neighbours Tipperary meet tonight (Wednesday) in the final round robin game of the Munster intermediate championship with a place in the Munster final at stake. Both teams have had one outing each in the championship to date with contrasting fortunes. Waterford overcame a resolute Limerick team in the first game where it took a late late Linda Wall goal to ensure a victory for the Deise. Tipperary had contrasting fortunes in their game at the weekend, blitzed by a barrage of Limerick goals early on Tipperary went down on a score line of 6-13 to 1-13. This however is not a sign for Waterford to be complacent as games between the two counties never have more than a couple of points between them.In this years league it went down to the wire and Waterford were mightily relieved to come out of the game with a narrow victory. Waterford should have too much firepower for the Tipperary backs and should clinch a victory. Throw in in Carrick Davin’s pitch is at 8p.m.

Barony Girls record back to back National Feile Titles

Gailltír Camogie Club

The experience of Féile na nGael is something that last forever, the honour of representing your Parish, club and county at this national event is what dreams are made of, the Barony girls did this with pride over the weekend in Ulster, having won the Division two title last year Gailltír Camogie club won the right to go and defend it by winning the Waterford Féile a few weeks back And defend it they did.

On Thursday they set out on the long journey to Belfast. Friday they took on the host club Naomh Eoin and won, that evening they went down to the athletic grounds in Armagh to take part in the Parade which was a wonderful spectacle of colour the girls were awarded the best turned out visiting camogie team for the way they were dressed, behaved during the event and for the club banner.

Early Saturday they went to Ballinascreen in county Derry where they played the two final group games,  Ballinascreen and Kinnity of Offaly and won convincingly, then on to Swatragh where they met Ballycastle of Antrim In the quarter final, another good win got them through to the semi final  back to Belfast For a bbq with their host club where various presentations were made.

Sunday it was back to Swatragh to face Camross of Laois in the semi final, games were getting tougher now as they entered the latter stages  Of the competition winning on a score line of 2.03 to 0.01

The final was played in the Derry centre of excellence at Owenbeg in Dungiven ten finals were played here.  Tullamore of Offaly  were  the opposition a tight first half saw Gailltír lead by 1.01 to 0.01 at half time, in the second half  after a tough battle Gailltír added on 2.03 and only conceded

1.00 Champions of Ireland were crowned, Back to back all Ireland winning titles a wonderful achievement for such a dedicated bunch of girls, the future looks bright for camogie in Gailltír

And Waterford, congratulations must also go to De La Salle on winning the Division 3 Shield final

And to Keisha Tobin of Dungarvan who came 5th in the skills competition.

Waterford's quest for six begins with a win

Waterford overcome a battling Limerick team in Intermediate championship

On Friday night last Waterford took their first steps to a sixth Munster Intermediate championship title in a row with a workman-like performance against a game Limerick team who battled hard and had the Deise girls worried for long stretches of the game. Played in excellent conditions, in Adare, on a hot balmy evening, Waterford were first off the mark with a well taken free from Michelle Ryan after 3 minutes. This score was quickly cancelled out when Limerick’s sharpshooter Marie Curtin slotted over a free for the Treaty-siders.
Liz Devine who was making her championship debut put Waterford in front after 5 minutes with a point from a very acute angle, before a long ball out of Waterford’s defence was picked up by Ballyduff’s Hannah Landers and she duly slotted the ball to the back of the net giving the Limerick keeper no chance to leave Waterford 4 points in front. Instead of giving the Deise the impetus to drive on, it galvanised the Limerick girls to pour forward and take the game to the Waterford girls.
In the 9th minute Aimee Jordan made a wonderful point blank save from Limerick’s most dangerous forward Marie Curtin and in the resultant follow up Karen McGrath did exceptionally well to be in the right place at the right time and avert a Limerick goal. Limerick went on a little burst and scored two quick points to narrow the gap to two points before Liz Devine got her second score in the 15th minute to extend Waterford’s lead to three. From the 15th to the 23rd minutes it was all Limerick and it took major resolute defending by the Waterford girls to ensure that Limerick only scored two points in this period of the game to leave the bare minimum between the teams.
Aileen Wall got her opening score of the game a point in the 22 minute and sister Mairead settled Waterford nerves further with a point on 25 minutes. Elaine Power cut through the defences to add a third point for Waterford in the 27th minute to leave three between the teams coming up to half time. In the dying minutes of the half Michelle Ryan and Marie Curtin exchanged frees to leave the half time score Waterford 1-7 Limerick 0-7.

Limerick opened the second half with renewed energy buoyed by the fact that Waterford’s Mairead Wall was harshly sin binned for a very innocuous tackle just before the half time break and with two quick points the green and white girls had eroded Waterford’s lead once again. In the 40th minute Linda Wall replied for Waterford with a well taken point following a quick passing movement orchestrated by her sister Aileen. Limerick were not to be outdone however and stubbornly clung on with a fine point in the 41st minute. Mairead Wall got her second point in the 44th minute but once again Limerick refused to wilt and narrow the gap with a well taken point in the 45th minute, to leave just one between the teams again. In the 46th minute Liz Devine who was having an outstanding game scored her third point before Aileen Wall and Elaine Power each got points to finally break Limerick hearts.

The icing was finally put on the cake in the 58th minute when a long through ball caught the Limerick defence napping and an alert Linda Wall read the situation expertly and despatched the ball past the despairing Limerick goalkeeper to finally seal a Waterford win on the score line  Waterford 2-12 Limerick 0-11

This was a tough game in which Waterford came out the right side of the scoreline against a game Limerick team who belied their status as underdogs. In championship the result is usually all that matters and Waterford got the necessary result with a below par performance in general. There is plenty of food for thought for the team management to take from this game but there are also many positives. The defence performed well as a unit especially in the second half with Grainne Kenneally, Grainne Enright and Mary Foley shining. Midfield had a tough night at the office in general but the steadied things down in the latter part of the second half when the pressure came on. Up front Liz Devine can be rightly proud of her championship debut, Linda Wall and Hannah Landers took their goals well and Mairead and Aileen Wall got through a lot of hard work. Lauren Guiry entered the fray in the last quarter and can bre well pleased with her senior inter county debut. Bigger challenges lay ahead for the Deise girls, Tipperary are up next on July 2nd in a Waterford venue with a 7:30 throw in.

County Under 16 Finals

The first champions on the club scene were decided at Dungarvan GAA grounds on Saturday evening last when four finals were completed. The opening final, the D final was played by near neighbours Clashmore and St Oliver’s and the Green and Red of Clashmore prevailed following the example of their Intermediates who won the Munster sevens two weeks ago with a comprehensive win over a gallant young St Oliver’s team. Next up was the B plate final between Ballymacarbry and Kilrossanty /Brickeys. This was an exciting affair all through but the experience of county under 16 players Becky Hogan and Maeve Ryan ensured that Ballymac became the B plate champions for 2014.

In the under 14 b final it was a case of east meets west when Ballysaggart from the far west of the county did battle with city representatives Roanmore. In what turned out to be the closest battle of the day the girls from the west ably led by captain Emma Power came out on top in a fine sporting game. The fourth final of the day was the A final, this was to be the meeting of Stradbally and Dungarvan. Stradbally, by virtue of the fact that their team contained seven members of the Waterford county team who had narrowly lost in extra time to All Ireland favourites Cork, were the hottest of favourites going in to this game. The Red and Whites justified their favouritism by accounting  for a game and gallant Dungarvan who never gave up trying.
Team Panels were as follows;

Waterford Intermediate Camogie Team begin with a win

2014 Liberty Insurance All Ireland Intermediate Championship

In the summer sunshine, Waterford Camogie Intermediate team traveled to Rathmoylan to play Meath on 21st June for the first round of the 2014 Liberty Insurance All Ireland Championship.  In the true sense of the meaning of a game of two halves Waterford were the eventual winners on a score of 1-09 to 1-07 but had to work extremely hard for the win.

The match started with Waterford scoring a point when Karen Kelly converted a free after 5 minutes but was quickly cancelled out when the Meath's player of the match Jane Dolan scored her first point of the afternoon.   Waterford's next score came from Nicola Morrissey after receiving a pass from her Lismore club mate Shona Curran and was followed by a Niamh Rockett point from play.

The work rate of the entire team was impressive and it needed to be as Meath were creating chances but Waterford's defensive partnership of Fiona Morrissey, Claire Whyte and Mairead Murphy were restricting clear scoring chances and when Meath did break the defence players such as Trish Jackman, Charlotte Raher and Sinead Cummins were working back to foil their attempts.

Waterford extended their lead when Karen Kelly scored our goal after a Niamh Rockett pass into her followed by a Trish Jackman free for Waterford to lead 1-04 to 0-01 after 15 minutes. Meath's Jane Dolan converted another free to finish Meath's scores in the first half but they always looked threatening in possession. After 20 minutes Meath sent in a free and once again Waterford's goalkeeper Becky Kavanagh and her defensive team smothered out a Meath goal chance. A Karen Kelly free and Trish Jackman 45 extended Waterford's lead and Shona Curran was unlucky not to have a goal scoring chance when she made an excellent run into space but misjudged a ball that bounced high on the hard surface. The half ended with Nicola Morrissey scoring her second point from play for Waterford to lead 1-07 to 0-02.

Meath started the second half strongly and in the first 5 minutes scored a total of 1-02 for no reply with all scores coming from the hurley of Meath's Jane Dolan. First up was a converted free followed almost immediately by a goal when she fired into the Waterford net and finished with a point from play. A further point from Aoife McGuire reduced the deficit to two points. There is no doubt that Meath were exerting some serious pressure on Waterford and could have been worse when the ball ended up in the Waterford net but was denied due to square ball.

When Waterford managed to work the ball down the pitch the Meath defense stood firm and some promising scoring positions were sent wide. Another Jane Dolan converted free reduced the difference between the sides to the bare minimum. It was not until 20 minutes into the second half that Waterford registered their first score when Trish Jackman converted a 45. Meath were not finished and Jane Dolan scored another point to close the gap. As full time approached Waterford had a few wide’s from promising positions and it was not until into injury time that Trish Jackman fired over a free to finish our scoring.

The fulltime whistle blew shortly after and Waterford could claim their first points of the 2014 Liberty Insurance Championship. Waterford's next match is against Cork on Saturday 28th June (venue yet to be decided) .

The Waterford team were: Becky Kavanagh, Fiona Morrissey, Claire Whyte, Mairead Murphy, Trisha Jackman(4pts), Pauline Cunningham, Sinead Cummins, Charlotte Raher, Karen Kelly (1-02), Shona Curran, Nicola Morrissey(2pts), Lorraine Bray, Valerie O'Brien, Niamh Rockett (1pt), Clara Hogan, Shauna Kiernan, Shauna Prendergast and Zoe O'Donoghue.

Subs used: Zoe O'Donoghue for Valerie O'Brien (40 mins)

2014 U16B All Ireland Championship

The 2014 U16B championship commences on 29th June when Waterford host Cork. In 2013 Cork denied Waterford the All Ireland when they won a thrilling final in Mallow last September. Our panel of players will hope to get off to a strong start in the 2014 championship. In addition to Cork, Waterford will face Antrim, Derry and Tipperary over the next month.

Non County Player League

This league commenced on Friday last and fixtures included Portlaw hosting Lismore and St. Anne's host Galltir. This is an important league for most of these players as game time is still maintained while the County Intermediate panel and County U16 players are unavailable due to inter county fixtures.

U12 Leagues

Section A

With Round 2 of the league behind us now we can see a clearer picture of team performance. This past week Brickey Rangers travelled to De la Salle and won the match giving them two wins from their first two matches. Butlerstown recovered from their Round 1 loss and won their match against St. Anne’s moving them into second place. It is difficult to see what impact Galltir will have on final standings as they are still waiting to play their first match. Galltir’s match this week sees them travel to Brickey Rangers while De la Salle must travel to Dunhill to play St. Anne’s.

Section B

Round 2 saw Clonea/St. Molleran’s host Tramore. After their win against Abbeyside the previous week, Clonea/St. Molleran’s were eager to continue their winning ways while Tramore lost their opening match by one point and were looking for their first points. The match ended all square in a tight encounter so both teams cannot be too dis-heartened from the result. Lismore also had their first win of the league when they won their match against Portlaw. In the third match near neighbours Abbeyside and Dungarvan faced each other and on this occasion Dungarvan were the winners.

Next weeks fixtures sees Abbeyside host Lismore, Tramore host Dungarvan and Clonea/St. Molleran’s host Portlaw.

Section C

Round 2 has just been completed and Roanmore won against St. Anne's B to give them four points from their first two matches. Ferrybank hosted An Rinn but the western team proved to be too strong on the night and moves them onto four points also after two matches. The all western Waterford match between Cappoquin and Tallow ended in a Cappoquin win to move them up to third in the table with two points.

Next weeks matches sees the top two teams play when Roanmore have the long trek to An Rinn, while Tallow travel in the opposite direction to play Ferrybank and Cappoquin have home advantage against St. Anne's.

U16 Championship

The under 16 championship commences this week so keep reviewing this space for updates.

U18 Fixtures

The under 18 fixtures were published last week and the first matches are due to played on July 1st.

All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship set to begin

Intermediate All Ireland Championship

In 2014 Waterford competes in the All Ireland Intermediate Championship and the preliminary league phase of the competition sees Waterford play Meath, Cork, Kilkenny and Wexford. The dates for your diary are as follows:

Match 1 Meath v Waterford on 21st June 2014

Match 2 Waterford v Cork on 28th June 2014

Match 3 Kilkenny v Waterford on 5th July 2014

Match 4 Waterford v Wexford on 12th July 2014

As can be seen from these dates the Waterford team will be competing on four consecutive weekends and we hope that camogie followers in Waterford would support our county team over this period.

The Waterford camogie manager for this year is Niall O'Donnell and he is pleased with the teams preparation. When asked for his thoughts on the upcoming championship, Niall said that "we have had a few good challenge games against senior opposition (Dublin & Offaly) showing steady progress beating Dublin and running Offaly all the way in high standard game. Players are showing good form at the right time and looking forward to the challenge that Meath will bring." We wish Niall and his team the very best of luck in the championship matches ahead.

U12 Leagues

Last week saw the commencement of the U12 leagues which was split into three sections. All these teams had been participating in blitzes through April and May so these players had a lot of camogie behind them before these leagues commenced.

Section A

Six teams are competing in this section but unfortunately only one match was completed which was the Brickey Rangers versus Butlerstown (the remaining two fixtures have been re-scheduled). Brickeys Rangers were the stronger on the night beating Butlerstown. The next round of matches scheduled for this week should give us a clearer picture potential finishing places.

This weeks fixtures are:

De la Salle v Brickey Rangers

Butlerstown v St. Annes

Gailtir v Modeligo

Section B

There were also six teams competing in this section. Dungarvan overcame Lismore in the all western Waterford affair while Portlaw overcame Tramore by the slimmest of margins. Abbeyside v Clonea/St. Mollerans match ended with a Clonea/St. Mollerans win. Next weeks fixtures should give us a clearer picture of team standings.

This Weeks fixtures are:

Dungarvan v Abbeyside

Clonea/St. Mollerans v Tramore

Lismore v Portlaw

Section C

Section C also has six teams competing with Roanmore overcoming Ferrybank. The St. Anne's v Tallow match has been rescheduled while Cappoquin conceded a walkover to An Rinn.

This weeks fixtures are:

Roanmore v St. Anne's B

Ferrybank v An Rinn

Cappoquin v Tallow

U16 and Non County Player League

Section '1' contains Butlerstown, Gailtir and St. Anne's

Section 2 sees Portlaw, Cappoquin and Lismore.

This is the second year of this innovative league which sees players continue to play when our County team is in action.

The Under 16 Championship is split into three sections:

Section A

Gailtir, St. Anne's, Cappoquin, Dungarvan, Brickey Rangers and De la Salle

Section B

Primary Games Blitz

Waterford primary games team travelled to Rathkeale on Saturday 14th June to participate in the first blitz of the summer. Interest and camogie strandard was so high that Waterford entered an A and B team into the competition.

2014 Feile

The 2014 Feile is fast approaching and this year Waterford have two representatives at the event which is being hosted by Ulster GAA this year. Teams representing Waterford are Gailtir and De la Salle while Kaeisha Tobin from Dungarvan represents Waterford in the skills competition
