Féile
This year’s Féile Na nGael tournament
will take place in Ulster where around 5000 under
14 boys and girls will take part in games
of Hurling, camogie and Handball over 3 days from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd of June.
On Thursday next the Barony Girls will
head off on a journey that if it lives up to anything like Limerick last year
should be a wonderful weekend, Having won the Division 2 Camogie title last
year
The girls know the Challenge that lays
ahead to try and retain their Crown. 15 of last year’s panel are
Still young enough to take part this
year, all the girls have put in a great effort in training and matches over the
last 3 months, just last week they retained the county A title. Naomh Eoin of
Belfast will be the host club for Gailltír this year and the girls are looking
forward to meeting their host families.
Lots of hard work has gone on around the
club over the last couple of weeks with fundraising for the trip, the club
would like to thank all who helped out including all the sponsors. Best of luck
to the girls from everyone at the club, we would also like to wish De La Salle
Camogie all the best as they take part in Division 3 and Keisha Tobin from
Dungarvan who takes part in the camogie skills.
Juveniles
Our Under 8’s and 10’s had a great day
of camogie on Saturday in Portlaw, Seven girls from Gailltír
Aoife Fitzgerald, Clodagh Carroll,
Laoise Mcgloughlin, Sally O Sullivan, Jessica Flynn, Sorcha Cantwell and
Thressa Coady took part in a blitz in Rathkeale Co. Limerick on Saturday with
the Waterford Primary squad. A big well done also goes out to Annie, Emma and
Kate who were part of the U14 ladies Gaelic Football team that beat Antrim in
the all Ireland semi final in Dublin on Saturday. Another big win for Gael
Scoil Phort Lairge during the week when they won the Rionn A Camogie county
final well done girls,
Our under 16 girls will start their
championship campaign on Tuesday 24th of June against St. Anne’s
