Barony Ladies help Waterford to another win.

Gailltír Camogie Club

Juvenile

Our u 12 team had a very busy week, on Monday evening in Gaultier they welcomed home the U 14 Féile Champions, then on Thursday they travelled to Brickey Rangers for their first league game of the year which they won well, on Saturday they played in the go games at half time in the Waterford V Cork intermediate championship game in Carriganore, on Thursday they play St. Anne’s in Gaultier. Training continues every Monday evening at 6.15 for all Under 12’s, 10’s, 8’s & 6’s

Congratulations to Gaultier Ladies U 14 football team that won the county final over the weekend.

Minor

Our minor team start their championship campaign this Wednesday away to Lismore, these girls along with the u 16’s have been training away over the last few months with team mentor Emma,  everyone at the club would like to Wish them well with their campaign, well done to Sinead Cunningham and Anne Corcoran who played their part in the Waterford U 16 team that beat Cork On Sunday.

Senior

Gaultier 6-4 St. Anne’s 5-11

This non county player Senior League game played at Dunhill on Saturday last was certainly entertaining to say the least.   The score alone will tell you that.   It was also a game of two halves.   St. Anne’s dominant in a lively first half , with the Gaultier girls awake in the second period.

Prominent for the Barony girls in a game of fast skilful camogie were Shannon Delahunty, Laura Flynn and Áine O'Keeffe at the back, with Bella Daniels lording affairs at mid-field.   In an attack that lacked cohesion especially in the first half - Annie Glavey and Sara Judge were to the fore.

Next Friday the 4th July the girls entertain Butlerstown at 7.30pm at home.   It is hoped a good crowd will come out to support them.   Important also and very opportune might be the availability of a number of the up and coming talent.    This competition affords them valuable experience.

Friday 4th is the night, 7.30 the time, Gaultier GAA pitch the venue; you have it noted, see you there.

Well done to the Waterford Intermediate camogie team and Gailltír girls Trish and Emma on a great win on Saturday over Cork.
