No joy for De La Salle in Munster Final despite brave showing

The Munster Club Junior Championship Final took place on Sat 22nd Oct against the Clare Intermediate Champions Scariff/Ogonnelloe in Cashel King Cormac's GAA ground, Cashel, Co Tipperary.

We lost the toss and had the wind to our advantage in the first half. Scariff opened the scoring with a goal. Our girls responded brilliantly and played well throughout the rest of the first half going in at the half time break down by 1 point: DLS 0-10 Scariff 2-5.

Our girls picked it up early in the second half but our opponents experience shown through allowing them push on in the latter stages of the second half. Our girls never gave up ad they battled hard right to the final whistle. Final Score: DLS 0-15 Scariff/Ogonnelloe 2-19.

Well done to all the girls on this panel for the commitment and attitude they have shown throughout the year. They have been a credit to themselves, their families, club and county. They can now look forward to the Waterford Senior Championship in 2017 after winning back to back titles Junior (2015) & Intermediate (2016).

Many thanks to everybody who travelled up on the day and throughout our County and Munster campaigns to support the girls. Well done to our opponents on a deserved win and many thanks to the staff in the Barne Lodge restaurant for their hospitality on the way home after the game. Many thanks also to CW Clothing & Blue Wall Technologies for there generous sponsorship towards our Munster Final outing.
